The Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service Victoria (FVPLS
Victoria) was established in October 2002 to provide assistance to victims of
family violence and sexual assault and to work with families and communities
affected by violence.
FVPLS Victoria is funded through a number of sources including the Commonwealth
Attorney General’s Department, Victoria Legal Aid and Department of Justice
Victoria. We also receive project grants from various funders.
FVPLS Victoria is an Aboriginal corporation managed by an elected Board of
Directors which means we are completely independent. Community representation
and input is ensured through Board membership.
